Easy like Sunday Morning
Took the fam to Jameos today. Swimsuit weather in the middle of January. After a nice session on La Surfera. What more could I ask for?

Freestyle in Costa
Feels good to be back on the water after a few days of break. Mostly practicing planing, pumping, upwinding and some tricks.

Late afternoon Jameos
Due to family obligations I don't get to sail in the afternoons. Today, however, I could, so I went to Jameos with Tim for a small-ish offshore session at the top peak.

Morning Jameos
Similar to yesterday's afternoon, but our usual time-frame: the morning.

Flat Charcos
The forecast was good, but it just didn't come through. I was expecting to be fully powered on 4.7 or even 4.2 with nice waves, but in the end I was struggling to get planning on 5.0 and there were not any sizable lumps to be found.
Oh well, another training day.

Another small-ish Jameos
I'm starting to really like small days at Jameos as I can really afford to make mistakes and not get punished -- I learn so much more when I'm allowed to make mistakes!

Charcos with the freestyle
It was one of those days when nothing looks too promising. Russell suggested going out with the freestyle to Charcos.
What, taking a freestyle board into waves? Well yes, the thing won't turn if you don't fully commit and this brings out all sorts of little mistakes that you do.
In the end, the waves were super nice and my body technique got so much better. Can't wait to bring this newly acquired skills to the wave board!

Another Charcos with the freestyle
Similar wind to yesterday, with almost non-existent waves. Good practice! Oh and stomped a (wet) forward :)
The main two things I need to fix:
- do a rail-to-rail transition going from bottom to top turn, don't flatten the board if even for a split second
- get more over the back of the board in the cutback

Smallest Famara I've seen
Normally, when it's small, there is zero wind, it's glassy but there are still some sets coming through every 10 minutes.
Today it was just onshore chop, and small chop. No swell. So strange!

Small Casa Chino
Lots of work to do so only managed to get out for a short session at Casa Chino. It was nearing low tide so very rocky.
